College Students Gadget Usage

It’s no secret that college students are among the world’s most enthusiastic and prolific users of mobile technology.  In almost every single backpack on any given college campus across the USA, you will find probably more than a single electronic gadget.  In fact, you’ll likely see a laptop, a tablet computer of some variety, a smart phone running either Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android OS for mobile devices, and possibly an iPod or other MP3 or media player.  Or, it could be any combination of those things, plus or minus a few.  The point is, almost no college students of today would dream of leaving their dorm rooms without some means of being, and staying, connected — either by cell phone, text messages, or social networking apps.

What about email, you ask?  Well, what about it?  Email has gone the way of the HP Touchpad dinosaur among the young, educated crowd.  Instant communication is preferred, with texting being infinitely more popular than either a voice call, email, or live chat.  Either way, all of these activities college aged students prefer require some type of device to get the job done.  Here is an infographic with some interesting data about just how college students are using technology the most.  Click to expand, and enjoy!
