Are you a failure? Certainly you would like to think not, but it happens to most people at least once in their lifetime. Something goes wrong and there it is a big fail. We are so against failing, but why? Did you know that in a recent study children who were taught that failing happens and it is an important aspect of the learning process actually did better on test scores?

These children taught that failures are not the end all be all were more willing to go out on a limb and answer questions while those taught differently wanted perfection and became pretty baffled and stumped.

How can you use this knowledge to your advantage when it comes to your education? Well, that’s easy. It is important that you remember that trying and failing is just another way of learning. It might not be the desired route, but it is likely that you will learn a heck of a lot more from your failed attempts at something over a subject where you just coasted through without any problems.

Do not be afraid of failure when it comes to taking a class that you have been too scared to take in the past. You never know the opportunities that you could be missing out on because of your fear of failure.

Of course sometimes failure can be a potential warning sign that you might not be able to do something, but I am willing to bet you will know the difference between a failure that creates growth and inspiration and a failure that means stop.

How do you get past your fears of failing? Well, fail! Or you can just remind yourself daily that even the most influential, creative, and amazing people have at some point failed in their life, and you are certainly no better than they are.

While I was in high school, I made plans and eagerly prepared myself for college. I studied for and took the necessary standardized tests. I applied to my top choice universities, and I researched for countless hours the programs and fields of study I would be interested in. Unfortunately in the second semester of my senior year in high school all of my plans were instantly changed. I was in a car accident and was seriously injured. If only there was something like adt in a car that could protect you from befoulments. Fortunately my grades and participation in school meant that I could still graduate, but the bad news was that all of my medical bills needed to be paid. The only way my parents could make this happen was to use my college fund until things were settled with the insurance companies. This was sad news to be, but there was a settlement that meant I could go to college when ready.

I just never really felt ready though. The wreck really took a toll on me emotionally and I could not bring myself to get up and go to school everyday. After about six months of doing nothing my parents approached me about the idea of taking a few classes online just to get me back into the swing of things. I signed up to start in an online program at a university, and from the first time I logged into my class I loved it. I found though that online school is not for everyone.

When you decide to go to school you need to make sure it is the best for you. Online school is not easier than traditional college, and it might even be more difficult for some than others. Here are things that you need to consider if you want to pursue an education with online coursework:

You will have to stay pretty organized and on top of things. If organization is not your forte, then maybe online school is not the best decision for you. Take a lot of time to think about all that you will have to keep up with and manage.

If you need one on one or face to face time with an instructor regularly, then you might not do so well online. Sure, you can communicate with your instructor and classmates, but it is generally through email and forum posts, not face-to-face.

And lastly if you are not motivated enough to stay on a routine schedule and complete your work, you might want to reconsider online school.

Last week, Apple started another revolution — that stands poised and ready to change the world yet again. Steve Jobs, the late co-founder and former CEO of Apple, Inc., considered this one of the company’s most important projects in the years leading up to his death. He wanted Apple to do something insanely great for education. Now, it is done: iBooks 2 is going to change the way we learn, forever, by changing the way we learn. No longer will students have to lug around 30 lbs of printed books. Textbooks will be available from schools to students on their school assigned iPads.

What’s more, these won’t just be virtual page-turning documents, but will be loaded with rich interactive content like videos, live Web links, and multimedia resources. There will be games for learning math, science, and reading. This is the best thing, for real, since sliced bread. Check it out:

It’s no secret that college students are among the world’s most enthusiastic and prolific users of mobile technology. In almost every single backpack on any given college campus across the USA, you will find probably more than a single electronic gadget. In fact, you’ll likely see a laptop, a tablet computer of some variety, a smart phone running either Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android OS for mobile devices, and possibly an iPod or other MP3 or media player. Or, it could be any combination of those things, plus or minus a few. The point is, almost no college students of today would dream of leaving their dorm rooms without some means of being, and staying, connected — either by cell phone, text messages, or social networking apps.

What about email, you ask? Well, what about it? Email has gone the way of the <del>HP Touchpad</del> dinosaur among the young, educated crowd. Instant communication is preferred, with texting being infinitely more popular than either a voice call, email, or live chat. Either way, all of these activities college aged students prefer require some type of device to get the job done. Here is an infographic with some interesting data about just how college students are using technology the most. Click to expand, and enjoy!

Ever wonder how the MBA became one of the most prestigious and sought after advanced degrees one could earn in a reputable college? Business school in these modern times is thought to be highly prestigious — but this was not always the case. In fact, most colleges did not even have MBA programs until the mid 1900s. The program was looked on with no small degree (pardon the pun) of suspicion when it first debuted. Many of the contemporary and most successful business schools from the hey days of yore are now finding success as online schools, and the MBA is hotter than ever. But rather than bore you with details, we’ll let you look over this awesome infographic to see how the MBA evolved to become what it is today:

There is a problem growing on America’s college campuses, and it’s names are too many to list. Previously known as the now outlawed “K2,” these products are responsible for countless calls to the national poison control center each year in the United States. Synthetic marijuana products that are sold at gas stations, convenience stores and “head shops” have indeed caused more than 750 calls to poison centers so far in this year alone. Authorities, doctors, and other concerned people are hence moving quickly to outlaw all of these substances and other things like them.

These products seem to present a dire health risk that is not worth it for consumers. Medical directors first noticed the increased calls about these substances to the centers last fall. The products are supposed to create a similar effect to marijuana, but the problem with bulk herbal incense is, patients often report the opposite. Instead of a pleasant, relaxed feeling of well being, they experience a fast, racing heartbeat, elevated blood pressure and nausea. All of these are quite terrifying and can be life threatening if not seen to immediately.

These products, mostly marketed as incense or potpourri, have been sold since 2006 for about $40 per 3 grams. Parents ought to be on the lookout for what appears like incense in their child’s rooms and should watch to see if their children seem more stressed or anxiety filled than normal.

“Statistics clearly show that this is an emerging phenomenon,” said Alvin C. Bronstein, MD, acting director of toxicosurveillance for the American Association of Poison Control Centers. “The symptoms can be life-threatening.”

Health worries related to these products have caused several states to enforce laws prohibiting the manufacture, sale, and use of the products: On Tuesday, the Iowa Board of Pharmacy elected to entirely ban the sale of these products. At least nine other states including North Carolina have also banned or outlawed these products, and more are expected to follow in the coming months as the definition for what these drugs must be made of to be considered illegal is broadened. Also, employers can now detect these products in drug screening tests — which should serve to turn people away from using these dangerous combinations of chemicals and herbs.

While it seems to be a great solution to further public education, there are also several problems with Online Education.

One of the leading problems with online education is the lack of communication between teacher and student. This has been a reported problems from both ends of the spectrum. Teachers report that they don’t have any feed back so it’s hard to know what to assign and how long to give them. On the other hand students report that it is sometimes difficult to grasp a new topic without direct instruction. These problems are sometimes resolved with email or a chat board between the teacher and student or contact between students. ADT Home Security makes it easier to protect that new computer or laptop as well.

Another problem with online classes is the possibility for students to cheat. It’s common knowledge that teachers frequently reuse test material, to make planning their course schedule easier. This presents the problem of students posting and selling tests online. This presents a problem for both the teacher because he or she will have to create new tests. It is also a problem for the students because if they don’t learn the material they wont be able complete the next level in their education. It is also a possibility for the enrolled student to get someone else to complete their work. When working in a classroom it’s easier to identify a students work through hand writing an other factors, but when everything is online it makes it more challenging.

One of the more recent problems with online education is inappropriate communication among students, as well as teachers. In certain classes group projects can be assigned so students must learn to work together online. For some this presents a problem when fellow students don’t pull their weight. When dealing with grades many students are very vocal about their opinions to other students and even the teachers. When students make rude or inappropriate statements about other students and teachers there is no way to quite them. Retaliation would only cause the problem to spread into a larger matter. It’s being found more and more common for disputes to be published online.

While there are many types of online classes and a number of them that operate smoothly without having any problems, although that is not the case for every online class. Universities and teachers are working together to reduce the possibility for online students to cheat their way through their education.

Online colleges are no longer hard to come by, but finding the one that fits you best is almost as hard as choosing a regular college. When you select a college you want to know

Major

Budget

Just like any regular college, online colleges have programs that they are known for. Be sure to look out for that when choosing your college.

If you are interested in a Nursing Degree you can choose from schools such as

Chamberlain College of Nursing

Liberty University

Kaplan University

University of Phoenix

National American University

and more

If you are looking to be a Psychology major the following schools are well known for their psychology programs

Liberty University

Argosy University

Capella University

Chicago School of Professional Psychology

Alder School of Professional Psychology

and more

For a Business Degree some of the top schools are

Creighton University

Keller Graduate School of Management

University of Liverpool

University of Saint Mary

Capella University

Marylhurst University

and more

There are a number of schools that have programs specific to your needs. Be sure to look for career specific schools.

Next on the list of things to look for is cost, the cost of classes varies depending where you go. There are many colleges that offer online degrees for under $10,000 such as the University of Alabama and Wilmington College. There are many other schools that fall into this category. There is also a signification number of online schools that offer degrees ranging from $10,000 to $15,000. These include schools such as Colorado State University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. There is a limited number of schools that cost $15,000 to $20,000, these include the University of New England and Ohio State University. Also having fewer schools to choose from is colleges ranging from $25,000 to $30,000 are schools like, Harvard University and Boston University. The majority of online colleges offer classes that range from under $10,000 to $15,000 a year. Direct TV actually has on site training for their amazing installation technicians.

Also keep in mind that when taking online classes you don’t have to pay for dorms, food plans and various other tradition school fees. In addition to not having living fees it’s also possible to work while taking an online class, due to the flexible schedule. With these combined you will save a large amount throughout your years of schooling.

That sound means it’s time to wake up, fix the coffee, make breakfast, brush your teeth, fix your hair, makeup, then off to the challenge of finding the perfect outfit. For many of us this task takes an average of one hour to get ready for the day.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could just wake up and go to school in your pajamas? Today 9.2 million students attend online college classes. Going to school in your favorite pajamas is now a reality. The best part is you can stay comfy all day long because there isn’t a set time when you have to be “in class”. Online courses can be taken whenever it suits you most. Direct TV D3Q takes great focus and a few degrees in multimedia.

If you are the kind of person who is up at 5:00am going to the gym then taking your classes in the morning will probably benefit you the most. On the other hand if you like to stay up all night and sleep all day taking your classes in the afternoon or evening is when you should take your classes.

Allowing students to earn their degrees at their own pace and at their own time is a great way for people to further their education. Online education not only makes it easier for regular college students, it allows people who can’t attend regular classes the opportunity to do so. For example people who are working to support their family and want to have a stable career. Or for people who have a stable career and want to tackle the next level of education.

In the US over 75% of colleges offer online classes. With so many colleges now offering convenient education programs, the number of people going to school in their pajamas has spiked dramatically.

With the increasing number of students being enrolled in online classes there are more and more degrees becoming available.

Online Degrees:
